Linda King (British, b.1958), Two ceramic items comprising a salt-glazed stoneware bottle and a contemporary stylized sculpture
A collection of two ceramic items. The first is a salt-glazed stoneware bottle of tapered oviform shape with a narrow, collared neck. The body is decorated with horizontal incised bands around the shoulder and features an impressed circular seal on the side, the mark of which is not clearly legible. The second item is a contemporary glazed ceramic sculpture in the form of a stylized, flat-sided apple mounted on an integral circular base. The sculpture is hand-painted with abstract motifs; the left side displays a vertical reddish-brown wash, and the right side features a stippled green and black pattern. The circular base is finished in a translucent green glaze. The underside of the sculpture is covered with a red felt pad bearing the handwritten characters LK and '22 in black ink, indicating the artist's initials and a production date of 2022.
