A PAIR OF KASAHN TURQUOISE GLAZED ELONGATED HEXAGONAL TILES, PERSIA, 12TH - 13TH CENTURY
A pair of architectural tiles of elongated hexagonal form. The tiles are constructed from light buff-colored earthenware and finished with a vibrant turquoise glaze, likely an alkaline or tin-based composition. The glaze surface on both pieces exhibits a dense network of fine crazing. One tile shows significant silvery iridescence across the face, a characteristic often associated with prolonged environmental exposure or burial.
