A Chinese Wucai 'Fish' Bowl, Wanli Mark. -

A Chinese wucai 'fish' bowl, bearing an underglaze blue six-character Wanli mark (大明萬曆年製) within a double ring to the base. The rounded body rises from a recessed foot rim. It is extensively decorated in polychrome enamels over a predominantly red/orange ground, depicting a vibrant scene of various fish in differing sizes and colors, including green, blue, yellow, black, and brown, swimming amidst stylized white wave or cloud scroll patterns on both the interior and exterior.
