WW2 1st pattern Fairbairn-Sykes Commando Fighting Knife. Personalised.

A very good and rare carried example. The hilt with nickel grip of checkered design, this has been personalised by two concentric rings to the base near the crossguard. Double edged spear point blade, the forte with etched panel Wilkinson Sword Ltd. London, the reverse side the F-S Fighting Knife. Recurved crossguard. Housed in an early pattern, brown leather scabbard with nickel rounded chape. Tailored with elasticated retaining strap, tangs period removed. The overall condition is good clean bright, with minor age wear. Blade length 17.5cm

The scabbard is the type for second pattern 1st type dagger and was commonly used in conjunction with the 1st type dagger
