A PERSIAN SILVER PIERCED AND CHASED FOOTED BOWL SIGNED BY MASTER JAAFAR, 19TH CENTURY

This Persian silver footed bowl is signed by Master Jaafar. The object is crafted from silver and features elaborate pierced openwork and chasing. The body is decorated with a dense pattern of birds and peacocks interspersed among flowering vines and foliate scrolls. The upper rim is deeply scalloped and finished with a band of chased floral roundels. The bowl rests on a flared circular foot decorated with a foliate border and a beaded edge at the base. A signature of Master Jaafar is located on the underside of the base.
