British School, 18th/early19th Century, a set of five oval family portrait miniatures of members of the Hunter family of Doonholm, Ayrshire, comprising John Hunter (dated 1769), Mrs Hunter born 1752), James Hunter Esq (undated), Andrew Hunter (dated 1743) and Rev A. Hunter (dated 1769); the latter two are possibly of the celebrated Doctor of Divinity at Edinburgh University (born in 1743 according to his Wikipedia page). A mezzotint of Sir Henry Raeburn's portrait of Reverend Andrew Hunter is in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. All are possible copies of 18th-century originals in Blairquhan Castle, Ayrshire, on ivory, 4 by 3cm, mounted on a velvet board. Note: Ivory Exemption Certificate No.SBCC3DAE (5)
