WWI - "UNDELIVERED THROUGH/CAPITULATION AT KUT." MARK ON INGOING ENVELOPE: 28 Oct. 1915 env. with GB KGV 1d tied by partly fine Bradford (upon Avon) cds addressed to a "Pte Andrews, 2/4th Wilts Regt., 6 Poona War Division, I.E.F.D., c/o Indian Post Office, Whitehall, London" but returned to sender with fine rare purple "UNDELIVERED THROUGH/CAPITULATION AT KUT." hs. On the reverse is a large G[crown]R Returned Letter Section London Postal Service label and below the ms return address for Mrs Andrews PLUS hand stamp "Dealt with by Officer i/c, Territorial Force Records, Exeter on 2.8.16 Prisoner of War" the latter added in red ink.
