U.S.A. c.1850 Valentine envelopes, a large envelope superbly printed on both sides with flowers and patterns in gold, addressed to Albany with Louisville, Ky. c.d.s; six other embossed envelopes with enclosed embossed or paperlace cards (4) or handwritten valentine poems (2), one addressed within Philadelphia backstamped "BLOOD S / PENNY POST / PHILIDA" c.d.s (Feb 12), two posted within Springfield, Ohio with red "PAID" and Springfield c.d.s (Feb 16) or to Mt. Pleasant, Ohio handstamped "PAID", three others hand delivered, two bearing wafer seals. (7 + 4 cards).
