Sven's painting coat and five of his hats together with his traditional 'Lapp' hat which can be seen in some of his self-portraits including the 1988 oil titled 'Self portrait in a Lapp hat', illustrated in his autobiography The Coat of Many Colours. The hat was given to Sven by the Swedish actress and director Mai Zetterling in 1961.
