Scarce Georgian / Early Victorian Water Bottle Canteen, untouched example of the large wooden circular canteen with steel banding, being the type used by soldiers at Waterloo and up to the early campaigns of the Victorian era such as the Crimea. Painted in white to the front of the bottle ‘VII H 2’. Old damage to the top, missing the stopper. Some old worm holes. Hard item of early British military equipment to find.
