A Gilt-Metal Mounted Blue and White Porcelain Cachepot or Jardinière
A single composite decorative vessel featuring a white porcelain or ceramic cachepot mounted on a gilt metal base. The vessel is decorated in blue and white with a central butterfly motif flanked by scrolling floral and foliage designs. The rim and lower body are bordered by heavy cobalt blue bands accented with gilt detailing. The vessel is equipped with two small scroll handles. The base is crafted from heavily patinated gilt bronze or brass (ormolu-style), supported by three zoomorphic feet modeled as bats with spread wings. The underside of the metal base is marked with the cast inscriptions UNITED and the numeral 1180.
