A Neo-Babylonian Style Marble Duck Weight, Possibly Circa 600–500 B.C..
A carved marble zoomorphic weight in the form of a stylised recumbent duck, the rounded body tapering gently toward the head with subtle incised modelling defining the wings and upper contours. The form is compact and symmetrical, with a small perforation at the upper centre, likely intended for suspension or attachment.
The pale stone displays a smooth, softly worked surface with natural tonal variations throughout. The simplified modelling and abstracted anatomical treatment are consistent with ancient Near Eastern weight forms traditionally produced during the Neo-Babylonian period.
