A French Louis XVI kingwood and tulipwood ormolu mounted bureau plat, the top of rectangular form bound with lacquered brass and inset with a gilt tooled leather skiver, above a series of three parquetry frieze drawers, the sides and obverse mounted with masks, all raised on slender capped cabriole legs, 79cm H x 152cm W x 82cm D
Overall this piece is in rather good order. One long and one short side appear more faded in comparison to the other sides. There are signs of light use to the top of the desk. The leather skiver appears slightly worn and the gilt tooling faded in places. There are some very minor losses of veneer - see images for clarification. All metalware present and free from losses.
