A late 19c German polyphon retailed by Imhof & Mukle of New Oxford St. London. It is contained in a rectangular walnut box with stepped carved base and coffered carved lid which has a floral inlay to its centre. The inside of the lid has a representation of putti playing music and dancing. The polyphon has an associated box of thirty one discs. The polyphon box is 54cm x 48cm.
plays well, in working order. one tooth appears to be missing - see photos. doesn't stop at the end of the tune by itself, it winds down. each disc plays a variety of tunes.
