East India Company flintlock holster pistol, dated 1802. Variation of the Short Cavalry pistol 1778 to 1807. Lock marked "REA" for John rea working at 122 Minories, making pistols for the Navy. EIC mark to tail of lock and dated "1802". Ring neck cock (works on 1st & 2nd cock) spring a little weak. Round barrel 9", EIC lugs to top with proof marks and makers stamp (crown over "I.R.") and "REA 1802" running along the barrel. 16 Bore, unusual rounded grip with brass buttcap and trigger guard, minor fracture repairs to wooden fore end. A good Napoleonic EIC pistol.
