AN IMPORTANT IRISH VICTORIAN SILVER TEA SERVICE, by J. Mahony Dublin c.1843. Each piece of matching design, the sugar bowl and milk jug with flared gadrooned rim, tapered bodies raised on a circular foot. All with decorative scroll handles with acanthus leaf applique. To the bodies are a central cartouche to both front and reverse with engraved family coat of arms surrounded by chased and engraved scrolling foliate designs. The teapot with decorative finial to cover. Each with nice clear hallmarks to base. Dimensions: teapot: 18.5cm high x 29.5cm wide; bowl: 22.5cm wide x 14.5cm high; jug: 17cm wide x 14cm high approx. Weight: teapot: 29ozt; bowl: 16ozt; jug: 10ozt – total 55ozt
