Short History of the Asahi Pentax 6×7
The Asahi Pentax 6×7, introduced in 1969 by Asahi Optical Co. (later Pentax), is a medium-format SLR designed to handle like an oversized 35mm camera while producing large 6×7 cm negatives on 120 or 220 film. Its familiar 35mm-style ergonomics distinguished it from more modular systems like Hasselblad or Mamiya.
