Nepal. 1943 (June 27) P.O.W card, the front identical to the type 1 cards, the reverse with preprinted messages including "I am quite well under kind treatment of Nippon authority", etc, sent by L/Naik Hari Lal Thapa of 2/2 Gurkha Rifles to Chhola village in Nepal, with Japanese and Indian censors and datestamps of Kathmandu Exchange P.O and Nuwakot West No. 4 (21 Nov. 1943), a few pinholes, otherwise fine. Tett only records one other example of this Singapore P.O.W card with preprinted messages, sent by an Indian P.O.W (the cards presumably only issued to Indian & Nepalese P.O.Ws), and this is the only recorded item from a Nepalese Gurkha P.O.W in a Japanese camp. An exceptionally rare and important card. Photo on Page 30.
