A letter written on July 20th 1878 by Francis Gotch of the Diamond Fields Volunteer Horse, camped near Dwaars River, Transvall to his half-brother's widow, describing conditions in the camp and rather disparaging descriptions of native warriors. Accompanied by a photograph of a Commissary wagon or equivalent.
