A marble dust resin torso of a male nude after the 'Discophorus' / 'Discophoros' torso from antiquity, mounted on a black metal stand, height approx 72cm, together with a smaller similar statue of a standing male nude on a stepped hardstone plinth, height 63cm (2) Note: The Discophoros (discus bearer) is a lost ancient Greek sculpture created by the sculptor Naucydes of Argos (active c. 420–390 BC), a Roman marble copy of this lost bronze original is held in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.
