£110
A Roman iridescent glass unguentarium, 1st-2nd century AD, in pale blue-green glass, with flat, everted rim and slender neck, pinched-in slightly above the pear-shaped body, 5¼in. (13.3cm.) high.
* Condition: Possible very old crack to the glass from the rim - there is a line here which is filled with encrustation and a faint line extending down into the body. We are not sure if this is a crack, or a flaw from when the glass was made. The exterior has a few small spots of pale brown encrustation and there is iridescence and silver across the inside surface.
