Canon William Carrigan – History and Antiquities of the Diocese of Ossory (4 vols, 1905) and the 2005 Index to this work. This is a very desirable set complete with the Map of the Diocese of Ossory, taking in almost all of Kilkenny, much of Laois and one parish in Offaly (Seir Kieran), along with a facsimile of the letter Bishop Brownrigg complimenting the publishers, Sealy, Bryers and Walker on their work: ‘I heartily congratulate you on the very successful manner in which you have brought to completion the important work …’. Also loosely inserted is a curious letter from a school principal to the school manager, Rev J. Carrigan P.P. in Glenmore, Co. Kilkenny, 31 August 1938, concerning notice of the reopening of the school after the summer break, written on notepaper of ‘Innisfail Hotel, Lisdoonvarna’
