1797 (Aug 28) Entire letter from Lt. J.S Smith of the Royal Marines on H.M.S "Monarch" at the Texel, posted at Yarmouth, Norfolk to London charged 1/9. The "Monarch" was the flagship of Admiral Sir Richard Onslow, then blockading the Dutch Fleet in the Texel; on October 11th the British defeated the Dutch at the Battle of Camperdown.
