A carved wood Maori Waka Warrior Canoe Model, presented on two separate wooden stands. This finely detailed model is crafted primarily from dark-stained wood with lighter wooden interior planks, featuring elaborate ethnographic-style carvings. The tall, curved stern is adorned with spiral designs and circular cut-outs. The bow terminates in a stylized head, possibly avian or zoomorphic, with small, iridescent shell or mother-of-pearl inlays for the eyes. The exterior hull is decorated with continuous carved patterns and further embellished with several circular shell or mother-of-pearl inlays. The interior includes three cross-beams over lighter wooden slats. A separate, slender, carved wooden implement resembling an oar or paddle accompanies the model.
