A 19th century French flicker stick (sword stick) with a stag horn handle, impressed BREVETE S.G.D.G. L.C., (Brevete SGDG translates to Patented Without Government Guarantee. (we assume L.C. is the maker) the square section 26.5cms blade is released from the top of the handle, in a 90cms cane stick with brass ferrule.
The trap door is missing, the blade comes out manually and the button does not release the blade.
