A closely matched pair of Iznik style porcelain candlesticks by Samson of Paris late 19th century, probably for the Turkish market, in the form of an eight pointed star, supporting a conforming, waisted stem and flower shaped drip pan, each with snuffer, painted mark to each base, 8in. (20.25cm.) diameter, 5¼in. (13.3cm.) high, one with restoration to drip pan and snuffer. (4) *One candlestick has a repair to a break to the inside flower shaped drip pan, with old restoration and overpainting to the break. Also a restored chip to the finial on the snuffer, and a small chip to the opposite side of the finial. The other snuffer has three small chips to the finial on the snuffer and one very small chip to the lower edge of the snuffer. No other faults noted.
