Watercolour: A most attractive ink and watercolour drawing of a young girl in flowering robes floating over a landscape, c. 28.5cms x 18cms (11" x 7"), signed with her monogram in bottom right mounted and framed, and Inscribed on reverse to the Poet and Mystic AE (George Russell). The inscription reads, 'The Princess on the Ridge of the World. /To AE/ with all good wishes to you and yours/ for Christmas and the New Year/ and all time/Yours/Pixie / Xmas 1902.' And further signed with a drawing of a 'pixie'.
* Pamela Coleman Smith known to her friends as 'Pixie,' was a member of the 'Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn,' and probably met AE through her interested in mysticism, or perhaps through her friendship with Jack B. Yeats. A most attractive association item. (1)
