19th century British School, portrait of a gentleman, reputed to be Admiral Gawley, portrait miniature possibly on ivory, 11 x 9 cm, framed in a giltwood moulded frame and glazed 21 x 19 cm. Ivory certification reference 78FNTDZW From a deceased estate. Letters attached to the back give provenance from April 27th 1871, 'given by Mrs Massey to Mrs Thomas' followed by a family history.
