A Japanese Satsuma earthenware jardiniere - early 20th century, of lobed form with scalloped, black and gilt Greek key rim, finely painted and enamelled with eight seated deities and a young attendant beneath gilt clouds, between lappet and dark blue glazed foliate bands, nine character painted mark to base, 24.5cm diameter, 17cm high.

* Condition: Small flakes to gilt line around foot and rim. Glaze crazing to rim (which is consistent and appears to be deliberate during manufacture). No chips, cracks or restoration. In good condition.
