A very rare antique 1855 Newport pottery "Babes in the Woods" pottery jug this relief moulded jug by Newport pottery (Cork & Adge) brings the folk tale Babes in the Woods to the life with deeply sculpted story telling scenes, a twisting branch handle with a parian style finish. The jugs in excellent looked after condition with no chips, cracks or old repairs. Portmeirion did later versions of this jug. It has a height of 15cm and a diamter of 13cm.
