A pair of Chinese dragon and phoenix dishes, Qing Dynasty Of circular form, the deep dishes painted in enamel colours with a dragon chasing a flaming pearl and a phoenix, amid clouds and flames, the rim with a border of peaches, bats and Buddhist emblems, the undersides in powder blue, four-character marks reading 'Precious object of pure spleandour'. 19cm dia. (2) Private English collection, the property of a lady.
