Thomas Sidney Cooper RA (1803-1901) Canterbury Meadow, watercolour, signed by the artist in the bottom left corner, dated 1860, titled and artist name found on verso, 48 cm x 33.5 cm, framed (unglazed). Cooper gained popularity for his charming scenes of the Canterbury countryside earning him the name 'Cow Cooper'. He was made Royal Academician 1867 and his works continue to be hung at The British Museum, The Tate and Canterbury City Council. There is evidence of staining and marks within and around the painting as well as evidence of dirt, there is damage to the frame noticeable in the top left-hand corner.
