Fees

A fine and rare Chamberlain Worcester miniature vase, c1820, of campana shape, painted with a named view of Malvern, in rectangular raised gilt frame reserved on a mauve band, 65mm h, painted Chamberlain Worcester in red script

Miniature wares, or 'toys' by which they were known at the Chamberlain factory, being produced of the same standard as the full-sized objects, were surprisingly costly. For example, a September 1822 in the sales book of the Chamberlains Bond St showroom records: "One pair toy vases, views of Cheltenham &c pattern in gold £1 4s 0d."
