A single, large commemorative earthenware plaque or charger manufactured by Wade Heath Pottery in England. The object is finished with a mottled bronze-effect glaze and features a heavily relief-molded design centered on the theme of the British Empire. The central design displays symbolic animals, including a lion, an elephant, and a kangaroo, representing the Dominions, surrounding a central raised cipher. The rim is inscribed with raised text including "SOUTH AFRICA," "BRITISH EMPIRE," and "AUSTRALIA." The reverse base is stamped with the manufacturer's mark reading "Wade Ware Pottery Hand Made By WADE HEATH ENGLAND."
