A large 1:8 scale Pocher model of a 1934 Rolls Royce Torpedo Cabriolet Phantom II. This car was built in 1934 especially for the Rajkotian Maharajah to replace his Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. This unique torpedo convertible was designed by Thrupp & Maberley, a long established English coach builder. The hood and bumpers are made of aluminium, while the rest of the plastic body has been painted saffron yellow, a colour that has religious significance in India. The interior has been finished in a textured brown leather and is well detailed. Fitted with wire wheels and rubber tyres. Length is 70cm x 25cm.
The Maharajah coat of arms is on the doors and side windows and on a rear plate. The car has 'A-K 75' Registration Number. The Rolls-Royce crest is black to pay tribute to Sir Henry Royce, who passed away while the car was being built, complete with The Spirit of Ecstasy mascot. Contained in a Perspex windowed display case. Vehicle is complete and is ready for display. Light cleaning required. VGC. £150-200
