Star Wars (1977) - A New Hope - an original production used prop Jawa flask appliance from their Ion Blaster guns. The Jawas are a race of furry humanoids native to the planet Tatooine, and are first seen in A New Hope as they capture R2D2. The flask is made of fibreglass with a wooden core, the outer fibreglass skin moulded and painted to appear as if leather, with faux rivets. A leather strap is fastened to both sides by means of metal rings. A screw protrudes from the top where the tube leading to the ion blaster would have once been affixed. The leather strap remains knotted at the top, likely done on-set by the original costume assistant in order to fit the actor. Measures 16cm tall (main body).

Provenance; From the collection of Gary Kurtz (Producer) - and supplied with a certificate of authenticity from the Kurtz / Joiner Archive which details the prop, its use, and history. Props from the very first film are considered extremely rare. A unique piece of Star Wars history.
