1718 PRIVATELY CARRIED JACOBITE LETTER FROM NETHERLANDS TO SCOTLAND: A single sheet letter written by Harry Maule 26 July 1718 from Leiden, Holland privately carried to George Lockhart of Cornwarth MP, both prominent Jacobites. Condition is generally fair to good with some splitting on fold around address panel but letter displays well. H.M. had fled to Netherlands in 1716 after the battle of Sheriffmuir.
