A cased electrostatic generator or Wimshurst machine. Early 20th century, produced by Philip Harris Ltd, 144 Edmund Street, Birmingham, with a brass plaque to the front, contained within a painted wooden and glass display case height 46cm, width 42cm, depth excluding handle 24cm. Although everything seems to be working correctly, we haven't been able to access the mechanism to separate the spheres.
