each with a characteristic grotesque 'face' carved into one end, the first elaborately carved with a double-headed eagle beneath a coronet, along with initials and the date 1786, and the jovial inscription COME LANLRD FILL THE BOWL LET US DRINK, the second carved with crossed arrows, a flag, and an anchor.
