Nursing Edith Cavell : A hand coloured print dedicated to Edith Cavell 1865 - 1915 A British nurse who is celebrated for saving the lives of soldiers from both sides without distinction and in helping some 200 allied soldiers escape from German occupied Belgium during WWI. She was found guilty of treason and sentenced to death. She was shot by German Firing Squad. Signed by the artist Eleanor M Ross (Act. 1880-1925) in ink lower right The original is in the British Museum Please Note - we do not make reference to the condition of lots within catalogue descriptions.
