An extremely rare Jumeau 203 bisque head character doll from the ‘Series Fantastic’, size 4, French early 1890s, the pale bisque head with moulded character features depicting a small child, with fixed brown glass paperweight eyes, painted lashes and feathered brows, wide open/closed smiling mouth with moulded upper teeth, hint of tongue and laughter creases, pierced ears, original blonde wig and cork pate, on a good fully jointed wood and composition body with unusual ball joint to flanged neck, wearing original red and white silk dress with lace centre panel and cuffs, matching bonnet, underclothes, socks and red leather shoes, back of head incised 203 and with red Jumeau stamp, 14” (35cm) tall.
