A French or Italian gouache, paper and ivory mounted fan, mid 18th century, the leaf painted with a figural scene of a family seated in a woodland setting, and with further figures to either side and to the distance, within a floral and scrolling gilt borders, apparently unsigned, the openwork sticks carved with three figural reserves, tipped with parcel gilt half flowers, against a scrolling foliate ground, with parcel gilt scrolling foliate and floral decorated guard, 27 by 52cm, presented in a glazed wall hanging mahogany case, 5.5 by 57 by 30cm.
