Three military and civil badges. Comprising an Edward VIII HM Prisons badge, a small blue enamelled 'Old Contemptibles Wives Social Club' brooch, and a WVS Civil Defence brooch. The Old Contemptibles Wives Social Club was formed to support the wives of the Old Contemptibles, who were the survivors of the British Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders during World War I. The first meeting was held in March 1935 and by 1952 groups had formed as far away as New Zealand.
