A 19th century Chinese export black lacquered tea caddy (Qing Dynasty), the rising lid revealing 2 engraved white metal caddies with fitted lids, box having allover gilded decoration, the lid depicting a village scene with figures drinking tea, canted form on carved scrolled feet, W23cm
Generally good overall condition, visible wear, surface marks consistent with age and use, feet lightly chipped in places, some cracking to the inner lid, caddies are again good order, just signs of wear and use with 1 retaining some tea leaves
