An Early Dynastic Period Stone ‘Eye Idol’, Circa 3rd Millennium B.C..
Carved from a dense grey-brown stone, the idol is of stylised flattened form with a broad rectangular body rising to a double-lobed head, each lobe pierced with a circular aperture representing the characteristic enlarged eyes. The surface shows a softly worn texture with natural abrasions and tonal variation throughout, consistent across both front and reverse.
