An imposing pair of Chinese or Far Eastern carved wood groups each with warrior on horseback and two attendants, dark stained and with wire inlay. Standing at about 50cm, diameter of base about 20cm, the groups are of mirrored and opposing position. A/f - cut dowels and drilled holes at the tops of the figures suggest they were originally modelled holding a banner or similar. Occasional shrinkage cracks of some age. A split and loss to the attire between the horse's front knees on one figure. Very occasional and slight lifting of the wire inlay.
