A large and elaborately decorated gilt framed wall mirror
20th century, manner of Robert Adam, surmounted by a Roman Centurion within a roundel below a ribbon swag, flanked by twin griffins over a relief decorated frieze, the whole supported on lion paw feet, 217 cm x 105 cm (full dimensions).
The surmounted parts are not securely fixed and need attention. Some of the decoration elements are present and in good condition, apart from some rubbing to the griffins and a break to some of the floral garniture. The sides of the mirror are unfinished, but the gilding is bright throughout, with some areas of the red underpaint showing through.
