A Victorian 1831 pattern General Officer's mameluke-hilted sabre, the curved steel blade etched both sides with scrolling foliage, crowned cypher to the front, crossed baton and sword the reverse, marked MANTON & CO ENGLAND, the brass-mounted hilt with two-piece ivory grips joined by two floral-head studs, the brass cross-guard with crossed baton and sword within a wreath each side, in brass scabbard with suspension rings. 99cm long overall
