(6; one without wrapper) or to his wife in Kirkee (4) with good contents (the last 4 - of 11-28 Nov. 1838 - to Kirkee regarding preparations for the departure for Afghanistan (one written on board ship off Bombay). Postal marks include INDIA LETTER marks of PENZANCE (1830), LIVERPOOL (1832/4; with fine red "POONA/POST PAID" cds - torn - or large fine red "KIRKEE/POST PAID") or FALMOUTH (1835, torn & part lost; with separate red "POST PAID" & "KIRKEE" - torn - alongside), and black 1838 boxed "Bearing" d.s. of "KHANDALA" or "BOMBAY" (3).
