A CHARLES II PEWTER WRIGGLEWORK FLAT-LID TANKARD, WIGAN, CIRCA 1680. The lid with front denticulations, and designed with a large eight-petal flowerhead, the drum with paired conforming flowerheads flanking a triple tulip stem, ram's horn thumbpiece, hollow handle with cut-card decoration below hinge pin and boot heel terminal, scattered hallmarks of maker 'IF' (within a diamond) to lid, and matching mark inside base, (PS18330), height 18.2cm
Maker 'IF' probably refers to John Ford II or III, Wigan, Lancashire.
